Good ‘old’ news

Why do people reject the Good News?

Simply because it is old and kinda boring.   Not because it is false.

People got caught into false gospels or spiritual deception simply because they wanted to hear something new or just simply different gospel.

It is/was not Gospel, but ‘spirituality’ that is/was appealing and highly decorated!

Moses, my servant is dead

The church today, in general, seems to make a big deal out of ‘great servants of God’ who are asleep (dead and gone).

“Moses my servant is dead” is how the Lord began with Joshua.

The Bible is not about servants/leaders of the church/world who are dead but about the the Lord God who is alive and used ordinary people who sought Him whole heartedly.

By this, I do not in any way downplay the role of those servants of the Lord in their respective generations.   Their obedience and faithfulness is exemplary beyond the shadow of doubt.

My point is this.  Our focus should not be on any ‘servant of God’ dead or alive but on ‘the living Word of God’ for all purposes!

Judas Iscariot’s love of money

Judas Iscariot sold his very life for gain.  Soon after he betrayed the Son of Man for thirty pieces of silver went out and hanged himself.  He did not enjoy his gain.  His GAIN was no help in saving his life of purging his guilt.

Do you think anyone (educated or not) who sells his/her conscience for an illicit gain will ever sleep happily?

“For ‘the love of money’ is a root of all kinds of evil.  Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.”  _ Paul

“Such are the paths of all who go after ill-gotten gain (greedy for unjust gain); it takes away the life of those who get it.”  _ Solomon.

Those who walk righteously and speak what is right, who reject gain from extortion and keep their hands from accepting bribes, who stop their ears against plots of murder and shut their eyes against contemplating evil – they are the ones who will dwell on the heights, whose refuge will be the mountain fortress. Their bread will be supplied, and water will not fail them.  _ Isaiah

“My God sent his angel and shut the lions’ mouths, and they have not harmed me, because I was found blameless before him; and also before you, O king, I have done no harm.” _ Daniel.

“Woe to him who builds his house by unjust gain, setting his nest on high to escape the clutches of ruin! _ Habakkuk
